Terms of Use

ChildMetrix Reports · Last updated September 2026

These terms apply to everyone who signs in to the ChildMetrix Reports portal.

Draft for review. These terms are pending review by ChildMetrix and participating agencies. Where an agency has a signed agreement with ChildMetrix, that agreement controls if it conflicts with this page.

1. Who may use the portal

The portal is for staff of state and territorial child welfare agencies that have an agreement with ChildMetrix, and for ChildMetrix staff supporting them. Access is by invitation only. You may use the portal only with the account issued to you and only for your agency's official work.

2. Your account

  • Keep your password private. Do not share your account or let anyone else sign in as you.
  • Change the temporary password from your invitation as soon as you sign in.
  • Tell your State Admin or ChildMetrix right away if you think your account has been used by someone else.
  • Your agency's administrators decide your role and which states you can see, and may deactivate your account at any time.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Try to access data for a state or agency you have not been assigned to, or bypass any access control.
  • Upload files that contain child-level, case-level, or other individually identifiable records. The portal is for aggregate, statewide reporting.
  • Upload malicious files or content you do not have the right to share.
  • Probe, scan, or load-test the portal, or interfere with other users' access.
  • Redistribute reports or presentation decks outside your agency except as your agency's policies allow.

4. Agency data

Files your agency uploads, and the reports generated from them, remain your agency's data. ChildMetrix processes them to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Federal source documents (such as CFSR Data Profiles) remain subject to their own terms.

5. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the portal available and current, but it is provided "as is". Reports and generated indicators are derived from the files provided and from published federal methodology; agencies remain responsible for verifying figures before official use. We may change or retire features with notice to agency administrators.

6. Activity records

Sign-ins, account changes, uploads, and downloads are logged. Your agency's administrators and ChildMetrix may review these records to support users, investigate problems, and meet audit requirements.

7. Ending access

Your agency may deactivate your account at any time. ChildMetrix may suspend an account that appears to violate these terms and will notify the agency's administrator when it does.
